On October 14 at the PB Consult offices, Mortimer L. Downey, Chair of PB Consult and former Deputy Secretary of the US Department of Transportation between 1993 and 2000, led an evening of discussion and reception with over 40 participants to give advice to young and rising transportation professionals about how to make an impact in the field, and also gave us his thoughts on the vision and direction that will be set by the next surface transportation bill after SAFETEA-LU expires in September 2009.

On May 19, 2008 USDOT Under Secretary for Policy Tyler Duvall led an evening of discussion (and a cocktail reception) with over 70 participants attending to hear Mr. Duvall's vision for the transportation system in this country.
